After month's of speculation, Bape Los Angeles has finally opened its doors. A huge round up of celebrities were in attendance including Mike "Quote Machine" Tyson, NERD, Dr. Romanelli, Kaws, Takashi Murakami and of course above all else Nigo. The store's decor is marked by traditional Bape influences including the sneaker conveyor belt, neon lighting and liberal use of camo prints.

Story of the Week: Online e-thug gets baseball bat beating over online slurs

KASHIWA, Chiba -- A 17-year-old boy infuriated by online insults used a baseball bat Wednesday to brutally attack a younger boy who is now fighting for his life in a hospital, police said.
The alleged victim, 14-year-old schoolboy, is unconscious and in a serious condition in the hospital.
The unemployed teenage perpetrator, who can't be named for legal reasons, was arrested for attempted murder. He admits to the allegations.
"I hit him," he told the police.

Several other boys who were believed to have been with the older teenager when the alleged attack occurred are also being questioned by the police.
Police said that the boys became involved in an online argument and when they finally met for the first time just after midnight Wednesday in a Kashiwa park, the older boy viciously attacked the younger schoolboy, beating him to the head several times with a baseball bat.

"He posted bad things about me on a site and it made me mad, so I hit him," the older teen told the police.
Police said the pair first came in contact several months ago through a mobile phone site the schoolboy set up and the older boy posted messages to. They initially swapped messages, but soon began writing insults about each other. The older boy used an associate to find out the schoolboy's identity and then apparently contacted him to meet in person so they could talk. They met for the first time in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Takada Ryokuchi park in Kashiwa.

Neighbors associate the park with dangerous youths.
"Lots of small kids and their mothers go there during the day, but at night all the older kids hang around there and it gets scary," a 56-year-old woman living in the area said. "I'm not surprised something like this has happened."

Moral of the story: Dont talk shit online unless you can back it up.

SOULJA BOY TO LEBRON JAMES: KEEP MY NAME OUT 'CHO MOUTH

April 21, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that some NBA trash talkin' between LeBron James and DeShawn Stevenson ended up hurting rapper Soulja Boy's feelings. It all started last month when LeBron's Cleveland Cavs lost a game to DeShawn 's Washington Wizards. After the game DeShawn told reporters that LeBron was overrated.
When LeBron was asked to comment on what DeShaun sid, Lebron replied, "With DeShawn Stevenson, it's kind of funny. It's almost like Jay-Z [responding to a negative comment] made by Soulja Boy. It doesn't make sense to respond."
Well, yesterday Soulja Boy heard what LeBron said about him. And here's how the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports his response:

"Someone from Interscope Records called me and sent me the quote," Way said. "I looked and didn't really think much about it. LeBron said something like he was Jay-Z and DeShawn [Stevenson] is Soulja Boy. I took that as [disrespectful]."

Well Soulja's going to be getting his revenge. Word is that DeShawn invited him to the next home game between the Cavs and the Wizards. And Soulja Boy will be in the front row to talk mess...

Grand Theft Auto IV breaks record: Game brings in $400 million in its first week

When it comes to boffo openings, forget "Pirates of the Caribbean" -- think "Grand Theft Auto IV."

And think $400 million for the first week, a record for vidgames and possibly the biggest debut ever for an entertainment product.

Sources close to publisher Take-Two Interactive, whose Rockstar Games label is developing and releasing the title, said that the latest installment of the hit franchise will reach that figure and sell some 6 million units after it launches worldwide on April 29.
Though they rarely release the data, videogame publishers are able to accurately predict early game sales based on what retailers order.
Microsoft currently holds the record for the biggest videogame launch with "Halo 3," which grossed $300 million in its first week and sold about 5 million units.
"GTA IV" has even bigger potential, however, since it is available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. "Halo 3" was an Xbox 360 exclusive.
Several industry analysts also told Daily Variety that they fully expect "GTA IV" to come close to and possibly exceed $400 million in sales out of the gate.

The "Grand Theft Auto" series has traditionally done very well in the U.S., Canada and Europe but been somewhat weaker in Asia, the other major videogame market.
Comparisons to other media are difficult, since "Grand Theft Auto IV" costs $60 domestically and contains dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of content, whereas the average film ticket in the U.S. last year cost $6.88 and is good for a few hours of entertainment.
Nonetheless, Take-Two will likely be crowing that the perf of its game is close to, if not above, the No. 1 film bow of all time, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," which grossed $404 million worldwide in its first six days.

Though it's clear that early sales for the game will be huge, it remains to be seen if reviews and buzz will drive "GTA IV" to ultimately perform as well as its predecessors. The franchise's last entry for consoles, "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," sold a healthy 21.5 million units, making it one of the most successful videogames of all time.

Carmelo Anthony Arrested On Suspicion Of Driving Under The Influence

Denver Nuggets star forward Carmelo Anthony was arrested on Monday morning on suspicion of drunk-driving, hours after his worst game of the season.

Denver police stated that Anthony was driving south on Interstate 25 at around 4 a.m. when he was pulled over and taken into custody. Investigators said he was driving a silver Mercedes that was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane and failing to dim lights.

"Carmelo was pulled over late Sunday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol," said Anthony"s lawyer Dan Recht in a statement.

"He co-operated by consenting to a blood test, the results of which will not be available for approximately two weeks. There was no accident and no one was hurt. Like anyone in a similar situation, Carmelo has to wait for the results of his blood test. He regrets putting himself in this situation."

Anthony was released on bond on Monday morning on his own recognizance. A summons appearance was scheduled for May 14.

"We are aware of the situation involving Carmelo Anthony," said Nuggets vice president of basketball operations Mark Warkentien in a prepared statement. "We are currently gathering information and we will have no further comment at this time."

While it's not exactly small enough to slip into a laptop, it comes fully loaded with a 17-inch, 720p-capable display, an HDMI-DVI output, built-in stereo speakers, a Blu-ray drive, and a full-on QWERTY keyboard. Even better: It was build with the innards of an older, 60GB PlayStation 3, which means it's fully backward-compatible with PS2 games.

T.I. Pleads Guilty to Weapons Charges, Plea Details Emerge

As expected, T.I. pleaded guilty to three federal weapons charges in a federal courtroom in Atlanta earlier this afternoon.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper stood before the judge in a gray suit and accepted responsibility for the charges of possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of machine guns and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Under the terms of his plea agreement, he will serve one year in prison and will be required to complete 1500 hours of community service, which will consist of him speaking to youth groups about the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.

He will only be sentenced to the prison time after he has successfully completed 1000 hours of the community service over the course of a year.

Following his year long prison term, Tip will still be subject to three years of supervised release, which will include one year of home detention, plus a $100,000 fine. Should he fail to adhere to the terms of the deal, he will face a much more severe prison term.

Had T.I. maintained his innocence and been convicted at trial, he would have faced a ten year sentence and $250,000 fine on each count. In a statement released after the plea by the U.S. Attorney’s office, prosecutors expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the case and noted the value of having a high profile entertainer like T.I. working to help reduce crime.
